Published in Dow News on 28th July 2011

Last night Board members, staff and invited guests gathered at the External Reporting Board's new Wellington premises to mark the establishment of XRB as a fully fledged organisation.

The External Reporting Board (XRB) replaces the Accounting Standards Review Board; which was initially established in 1994. The ASRB operated as essentially a virtual organisaiton over this time providing advice on accounting standards. The XRB now has a full time Chief Executive and team; and is focused on developing a financial reporting strategy; preparing and issuing accounting standards and preparing and issuing auditing and assurance standards.

Dow Group has assisted XRB establish new premises in Auckland and Wellington prior to the establishment of XRB on 1 July 2011.

XRB's Wellington premises are located in the I-Centre in Manners Street, and at Forsyth Barr Tower, Shortland Street in Auckland. Dean Croucher & Seree Bayne led the premises procurement and lease negotiation aspects while Alice Cuttance led the strategic fitout briefing, architect breifing and furniture selection.
